I am a mommy to five boys, 4 and under! I have three biological sons; Evan is the oldest and just turned 4, Landyn will be 2 in June, and Jayce is our youngest, born in December 2010. Elijah and Jonah were adopted from Ethiopia and will be 3 in July. Someday, I’ll get my girl(s). God already knows the details!
Dear Brooke,
It was great to read your blog and get caught up on you and your big family! I am so gald to hear that things are going well! You seem very busy of course, but happy! I want to apologize for not making it see you and the boys yet! Laela has been sick for the past 6 weeks and we’ve been dealing with that. I hate to make excuses, but she is finally feeling better, so YAY! She had to start a new daycare last week but loves it, so that’s a relief! One big plus is that she gets more exposure to other 2 year olds, which is something she didn’t get at her old daycare. Hopefully that will help her learn to share better! She has gotten so big too! In fact, due to taking Prednisone to help with her RSV, she has gained quite a bit of weight! Matt and I used to call her our little peanut, now we lovingly refer to her as our little walnut! We will have to come by and see you all soon so I can meet the boys and Laela can play with the kids! Matt will be traveling this month also, maybe we can come over one night for dinner (we’ll bring something)! Talk to you soon!
Alecia!!
Hey Alecia!
Thanks for reading the blog!
I miss you!
Glad to hear Laela is finally doing better and is happy at her new daycare! Prednisone…yuck! That made Evan crazy one time…it was so scary. I forgot about it though and then got it for Landyn and he threw up once and was just very fussy…I stopped it after 2 days. I don’t think I’ll ever get that one again. The little peanut to little walnut thing is funny though! You must be exhausted. That’s a lot to handle all while trying to balance your job too. Speaking of work…how are you liking 1st grade and how is your year going? It seems to be going faster than normal.
I’d love for you to meet the boys and to have you guys over. I can’t promise we’ll be good at sharing either, so don’t worry! That is definitely a stage…a LONG one! I remember many kindergarteners still not being good at that!
Let me know when Matt will be gone. Rick will be gone about 2/3 of the month on and off. I’ll be glad when April comes around!!
Take care and hope to see you soon,
Brooke
Brooke,
It was so fun reading the update on your family. I’m just so in awe of you! I’m wondering how I will do with 2 children and here you are not just surviving but flourishing with 4. You go girl! You are an inspiration to me and many more moms out there. I will look forward to your next update. And send my congrats to Rick for WI ag teacher of the year ( PS: we all know that behind every sucessful man is a strong woman)!

I will pass on the message to Rick…and yes, I believe that saying is true!
You will be GREAT with two!
